What databases are available with TransSearch?
Four databases are currently available:
- House of Commons Hansard: the transcribed debates of the Canadian House of Commons. This corpus contains almost every Hansard issue since April 1986. The translations are from English to French and vice versa, totalling close to 283 million words.
- Senate Hansard: the transcribed debates of the Canadian Senate. This corpus contains almost every Hansard issue since February 1996. The translations are from English to French or vice versa, totalling close to 26 million words.
- Canadian Courts rulings: this corpus is composed of documents drawn from the collected decisions of the Supreme Court of Canada, the Federal Court of Canada and the Tax Court of Canada. The documents selected date back to 1986 and total 154 million words.
- A Spanish-English document collection kindly made available to us by the International Labour Organization (ILO), containing international labour standard conventions, recommendations and decisions. The new ILO document collection contains approximately 32 million words.
The Hansard databases are updated daily, the two other databases periodically.
Furthermore, we hope to add more document collections, including to the Spanish database, and would ask anyone who knows of other large, high-quality bitextual corpora that could be included in TransSearch to please contact Jean-François Richard at termino@terminotix.com.
Important: The RALI and Terminotix Inc. in no way guarantee the integrity or completeness of the documents in the above-mentioned databases. See the Restrictions and Abuse page.
